Save a Word document as PDF
Drag your .docx files onto the page, one document or a whole folder's worth. Nothing leaves your device.

Press Convert to PDF and save each PDF on its own, or grab the whole batch in a single ZIP.
What you get when you save DOCX as PDF here
Send it, print it, forget about it
A finished PDF opens identically for the recipient, whatever office suite they use. Fonts are embedded, so a teacher, client or landlord sees the same pages you see.
Text that reads like a document
Words stay words: anyone can press Ctrl+F to find a clause, copy a quote or zoom in without blur. Links in your DOCX remain live, and your headings turn into a clickable outline.
Paper that fits the job
Printing for a US office? Choose Letter or Legal. Filing in Europe? Pick A4. Landscape or portrait, narrow or wide margins, plus numbering such as "Page 3 of 12" at the foot of every sheet.
A whole stack in one go
Got twenty reports at the end of term? Add them together and collect every PDF in one ZIP. No sign-up, no stamp on the pages and no copy kept anywhere.
DOCX to PDF for everyday paperwork
A DOCX is great while you are still writing, but it can shift when someone opens it in another program. Saving it as PDF freezes the layout. This tool does that job inside your browser tab, so the document never travels to a server.
Who uses it, and for what
- Students hand in an essay as PDF so the footnotes, bibliography numbering and tables arrive exactly where they were placed.
- Job seekers send a CV that keeps its bold section titles and bullet points on any laptop or phone the recruiter happens to use.
- Office and HR staff turn offer letters and policies into PDFs, with shaded table cells and header rows repeated on each new page.
- Freelancers export a quote or invoice with a clickable payment link and "Page 1 of 2" numbering at the bottom.
- Teachers convert a folder of worksheets in one batch before printing them on A4 or Letter.
How the conversion works
The page builds real PDF pages from your file: it measures every line, wraps and justifies text, splits long tables across pages and keeps headings with the paragraph that follows. Sans-serif text is set in Liberation Sans, which shares Arial's widths, while serif and monospaced passages use Times and Courier. Prefer one clean look? The Advanced panel can switch all text to sans-serif.
Limits worth knowing
Text boxes and floating pictures are placed in line with the text, several columns become one, and embedded Word charts or EMF/WMF drawings may not appear. Password-protected files must be unlocked in Word first. When you are done, the PDF can go straight into the editor for a signature, or be turned into one JPG or PNG image per page.
Other things you can save as PDF
Questions people ask about this task
How do I save a DOCX as PDF without Microsoft Word?
Open this page in a browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, drop the .docx in and press Convert to PDF. You need neither Word nor an account.
Can I turn several DOCX files into PDFs at once?
Yes. Select or drag in as many documents as you like; once they are done you can download them separately or all together as a ZIP archive.
Why is my header or footer missing in the PDF?
Headers and footers from the DOCX are not reproduced. If you mainly needed them for numbering, switch on the page number option before converting.
Will a recipient be able to edit my PDF?
Not casually, which is why PDF suits CVs, invoices and signed letters. They can still copy the text, because it is real text rather than a picture.
My document is in Japanese or Hindi. Will it work?
The default mode handles Latin, Greek and Cyrillic letters. For other alphabets choose Exact look: the browser paints each page as an image using its own fonts, so text is no longer selectable.
Does it accept .doc or RTF files?
Only DOCX is converted here. Resave a .doc as .docx in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs first; for RTF documents, the RTF to PDF tool is the right choice.
