Quick guide

Turn PDF pages into PNG images

01

Drop the PDF here, or a few PDFs together; if one is locked, type its password when asked.

02

Tick the pages you want, set a dpi or pixel width and check the predicted download size.

03

Grab each page as its own picture, everything in a single archive, or one long stacked picture.

What you get

Every page, ready for the job in front of you

Sized for where it is going

Need pictures that fit a 1200 px blog column or a 300 dpi flyer? Enter the pixel width or dpi yourself (18 to 1200 dpi, 50 to 20,000 px wide), or tap one of the four ready presets.

Just the pages that matter

Grab only page 14, where the chart sits, or every odd page of a booklet. Typed lists like 2-5, last work as well, and with a batch of PDFs you can keep only the first page of each.

See-through or stacked

A clear background lets a diagram sit cleanly on a coloured slide. The stacked option joins the selected pages top to bottom into one long picture, with an optional thin gap between them.

Photos without the layout

A second mode ignores text and layout and pulls out only the pictures stored in the file, at their native resolution. Icons under 32 px and logos repeated across many pages can be left out.

Save PDF pages as PNG images for everyday tasks

When a page has to end up somewhere a PDF cannot go, such as a slide, a listing, a chat or a web page, a picture of it is the easiest answer. PNG keeps every letter and line sharp because it never throws detail away, so it suits pages full of text, tables and drawings. The whole job happens in your browser: the document is read and drawn locally, and no copy is sent anywhere.

Who reaches for it

  • Teachers dropping one worksheet page onto an interactive whiteboard slide.
  • Real estate agents taking the floor plan out of a property report and placing it in an online listing.
  • Freelancers and designers lifting a logo or chart from a brand guide, with a clear background so it fits any colour.
  • Office and HR teams posting an org chart or policy summary on the intranet as an image people can open on any device.
  • Students pasting a single lecture slide into their notes app to annotate it.

Picking settings that fit

For anything viewed on a screen, 150 dpi is plenty and keeps downloads light. Go to 300 dpi when the page will be printed or when people need to zoom into fine print, and save 600 dpi for detailed plans. If a website or template expects a fixed size, type the width in pixels instead and every page will match it. The estimate under the options updates as you change pages or resolution, so you know roughly how big the download is before you start.

When something else fits better

Pages that are mostly photographs make heavy PNG files; the PDF to JPG tool gives much lighter results for those. And if you only want the photos from a catalogue, switch to Extract images rather than capturing whole pages.

Answers

Questions people ask about this task

How do I turn one page of a PDF into a PNG?

Open the file, press None to clear the selection and click the page you need, or type its number in the box. Then run the job and save that single picture.

Can I save PDF pages as PNG without installing software?

Yes. Everything runs in a modern web browser on a computer, tablet or phone, and the document stays on your device from start to finish.

How many pixels will each PNG have?

An A4 sheet comes out at 1240 × 1754 px at 150 dpi and 2480 × 3508 px at 300 dpi. Before you start, the tool shows the pixel size of page 1 and a download estimate based on sample pages of your own file.

Why are some pictures smaller than the resolution I chose?

Browsers cap how large a single image can be, and phones and tablets have far less room than computers. Pages that would go past that cap are scaled down and you get a note saying so; a lower dpi avoids it.

Can I grab the first page of many PDFs at once?

Yes. Load the PDFs together and pick First page only, a quick way to build cover thumbnails for a website or shared folder. All pages, or the same custom range for every file, work too.

Why did Extract images find nothing in my PDF?

Charts, text and drawings in many documents are vector graphics, not stored pictures, so there is nothing to pull out. Go back to page mode to capture everything that is visible.
