Big files need a moment. Please leave this tab open until it finishes.

Break a PDF into smaller files
Add the PDF you want to take apart (several files work too).
Tell the toolbox where the cuts go: pick a rule such as every page or a size cap, or open the page grid and place the cuts yourself.
Save the new files individually or grab the whole set in a single ZIP archive.
What the page separator can do for you
A rule for every kind of document
Pull out each page, cut every few pages, divide the pages into equal parts, follow typed ranges, cap the file size, follow the bookmarks or break at empty sheets. You see the resulting file count first.
Attachments that pass the mail limit
The size rule really saves each chunk and checks its weight, so a 10 MB cap means 10 MB. If one page alone is heavier, it gets its own file and you are told which one.
Hands-on page grid
Prefer to decide yourself? Thumbnails of every page appear, a scissors icon cuts between two pages, and ticks let you pull selected pages out. You can also rotate or delete pages there.
Runs on your device, stays with you
Your browser does the separating on your device, so nothing travels to a server. No login, no stamp on the pages, no cap per day, and the original text remains selectable.
Separate PDF pages for the job in front of you
Most of the time you do not need the whole PDF, you need part of it in its own file. Best-Converter takes the document apart inside your browser and hands back clean PDFs, ready to send, upload or archive.
Who uses it, and how
- HR teams scan a pile of signed forms in one go with a blank sheet between employees, then use At blank pages to get one PDF per person.
- Real estate agents with a heavy contract bundle choose By file size and set 18 MB, so every piece fits a 25 MB Gmail message after encoding.
- Teachers who scanned a class set of 4-page tests use Every N pages with 4, which gives one file per student.
- Students keep only the chapter they must read: By chapters names each file after its bookmark, and sections are available when the PDF has sub-bookmarks.
- Freelancers send a client only the pages that matter by typing ranges such as 2-5, 9 and switching on the merge option, which produces one short PDF.
- Office staff filing a monthly statement pack pick Every page; the names carry page numbers like statement-page-07.pdf.
Good to know before you start
- Drop in several PDFs and the same rule runs on each one; the page grid handles one file at a time.
- With Every N pages, the final file simply holds whatever pages remain.
- Copying pages instead of redrawing them keeps fonts, images and searchable text intact.
- Need a different cut? The result screen has a button to split the same file another way.
All of this is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. Download the parts one by one, take them as a ZIP or keep them in My documents. If the outcome is one PDF, you can continue in the editor or turn it into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG or PNG.

Questions people ask about this task
How can I save each page of a PDF as its own file?
Pick the Every page rule. Each page becomes a separate PDF with a numbered name, so the files sort in the right order in any folder.
Can I separate a scanned stack into individual documents?
Yes, if you scanned a blank sheet between the documents. The At blank pages rule finds pages with no text and almost no ink, cuts there and can drop those sheets from the result.
How do I pull out just one chapter of a PDF?
If the PDF has bookmarks, the By chapters rule gives you one file per bookmark, named after it. Without bookmarks, type the page range of that chapter in Custom ranges.
Do I need to install anything to separate PDF pages?
No. The toolbox runs in a normal web browser on a computer or phone, with no program to download and no account to create.
Will the separated pages look different from the original?
They look the same, because pages are copied rather than redrawn. Two things stay behind: fillable form fields and the bookmark panel of the original.
What if the toolbox refuses my file?
A locked or password PDF has to go through Unlock PDF first. A file with a single page, zero bytes or broken data cannot be separated, and the message says which problem it found.
