Quick guide

Scan paper documents into a PDF

01

Snap each sheet with your phone camera, or drop in pictures you already took (HEIC from an iPhone works).

02

Nudge the corner handles onto the paper edges, turn any sideways page and choose how clean the paper should look.

03

Set A4, Letter or scan shape, press Create PDF and save the file, or convert it to Word, JPG or PNG.

What you get

Everything a scanning job needs

Crooked shots come out square

Shot the page at an angle on a cluttered desk? The tool spots the sheet, and a zoom loupe helps you place each corner exactly before it pulls the page into a straight rectangle.

Grey paper turns white

Uneven lamp light and the shadow of your phone are evened out page by page. For contracts and notes, the Black & white mode gives sharp ink and a Text weight slider to keep faint strokes or thin out heavy ones.

Multi-page in one go

Add pages as you go, drag them into order, drop a blurry shot and rotate with the R key. A desk webcam works as well: press Capture or the Space bar for each sheet.

Text you can search later

Switch on OCR and the finished file gets hidden, selectable text in one of 16 languages, handy when you need to find a name or invoice number months later.

Turn phone photos into a PDF scan the office will accept

When an office, a school or a landlord asks for "a scanned copy", a quick snapshot is rarely accepted: the page is tilted, the background shows and the paper looks grey. This toolbox page closes that gap. Your pictures are squared up to the paper edges, cleaned like a flatbed scan and packed into one PDF, all inside the browser tab.

Who uses it

  • Students hand in worksheets and handwritten homework as one tidy file instead of ten loose pictures.
  • HR and office teams digitise signed forms, ID copies and onboarding papers straight from a desk webcam.
  • Freelancers keep receipts for the accountant, with OCR so an amount or supplier can be found again.
  • Real estate agents photograph lease pages on site and send a clean PDF before leaving the property.
  • Teachers share a printed handout with a class that missed the lesson.

Getting a sharp result

Shoot from directly above, in daylight, with the sheet on a darker surface so the edge finder can see it. Turn off flash if it leaves a bright spot. Text pages look best with Black & white, which is also stored losslessly, while Auto colour suits pages with stamps or highlighter. Use the button under the filters to give every page the same look in one go.

Page and file options

Choose A4, US Letter or a page that follows the shape of the photo, with no margin, 10 mm or 20 mm. Quality runs from 150 to 300 dpi. If each picture shows one full sheet, the stretch option under More options fills the whole page. Your choices are remembered on this device for the next job. The finished file can be renamed, saved to My documents or opened in the PDF editor to add a signature.

Answers

Questions people ask about this task

Do I need to install a scanner app?

No. Everything runs in the mobile or desktop browser you already have, so there is nothing to install and no sign-up before you download.

Can I scan a multi-page contract into a single PDF?

Yes. Keep adding photos or camera shots in the editor; each one becomes a page, and you can reorder or remove them before pressing Create PDF.

Will my ID or bank letter be sent anywhere?

No. Corner detection, cleanup and PDF assembly happen on your own device. The only download is the OCR language pack, fetched once if you switch text recognition on.

What should I do if the corners land in the wrong place?

Pale pages on a pale table are hard to separate, so drag the handles yourself or choose Whole photo. Placing the sheet on a dark surface next time usually fixes it.

How do I keep the PDF small enough to email?

Pick Compact (150 dpi) and the Black & white mode for text pages. Keep Auto colour only for pages with stamps, coloured pens or photos.

Does handwriting become searchable text?

Rarely. OCR works best on printed, sharp text; handwritten notes stay readable as an image but are usually not recognised as words.
