Turn sideways PDF pages the right way up
Drop in the PDF, or a whole stack of them, that has pages facing the wrong way. Your browser opens everything locally.
Turn single pages with their arrows, pick a group such as even pages or 4-7, or press Auto-straighten and let the text direction decide.
Press the Rotate button to save the upright copy, then grab it on its own, as a ZIP with the others, or in another format.
What this toolbox does for crooked PDFs
Text-aware straightening
Pages with a real text layer are checked for the way their lines run. Any page that reads on its side or upside down gets a "!" marker and a one-click fix. Image-only scans still need a manual turn.
Select pages by rule, not one at a time
Target odd, even, landscape or portrait pages, or type ranges like 3-6, 12 or an open-ended 10- that runs to the last page. Then swing them all left, right or 180° together.
Same file, new direction
The corrected copy keeps selectable text, the original picture quality, links, bookmarks and form fields, because only the angle stored for each page gets rewritten.
A whole pile in one sitting
Load several PDFs, switch between them with tabs and apply a turn to every file or only the one on screen. Save results singly or zipped, with no sign-up and no upload.
Turn PDF pages upright for school, office and home paperwork
A page facing the wrong way seems minor until you have to read it on a phone, print it for a meeting or send it to a client. This toolbox page does that single job well, and it works inside your browser, so the document stays on your own machine the whole time.
Who usually reaches for it
- Students: lecture notes snapped or scanned in a hurry, with half the sheets lying on their side the night before an exam.
- Office and HR teams: signed forms fed through a duplex scanner, where every reverse side arrives upside down. Choose Even pages, press 180° and the batch is done.
- Real estate agents: floor plans and site drawings that show up on their side inside a contract package. Turn just those pages and leave the text pages alone.
- Teachers and freelancers: worksheets, invoices or reports stitched together from several sources, each arriving with its own orientation.
How the job goes, start to finish
Once the file opens, each page appears as a small preview with a badge showing how far it will turn. Meanwhile the tool reads the direction of the text in the background; when it spots pages that read sideways, a banner points them out and offers a Fix button. Pages without readable text, such as photos of paper, are never guessed at, so give those a manual turn. A Reset button wipes every change if you want a clean start, and the arrow keys turn a focused page without touching the mouse.
Good to know before you save
- The upright copy is saved with "-rotated" added to its name, so your original is never overwritten.
- If pages also need reordering or removing, the "Reorder or delete pages too" button carries your turns over to the page organizer.
- Do the turning before any digital signature is applied: a later change makes that signature invalid.

Questions people ask about this task
Why do my scanned PDF pages come out sideways?
Scanners and phone apps often store a page the way it was fed or photographed, not the way it reads. Fix those pages here with the arrows or the bulk buttons; scans usually carry no text layer, so they are not straightened automatically.
Can a tool find the upside-down pages for me?
Yes, when the pages contain real text. The angle of the text lines is measured, wrongly facing pages are flagged, and the Fix button or Auto-straighten sets them upright for you.
How do I fix only the back sides of a double-sided scan?
Set "Apply to" to Even pages and press 180°. Every second sheet flips over while the front sides stay exactly as they were.
Does turning pages make the text blurry?
No. Nothing is redrawn or turned into an image: the tool only changes the angle saved for each page, so words remain crisp and searchable and photos keep their quality.
Will the pages stay upright when I email or print the file?
Yes. The corrected direction is written into the saved PDF, so any viewer, phone or printer shows it that way. The file you started with stays untouched on your device.
What if my PDF asks for a password?
A file that needs a password to open has to go through Unlock PDF first, and you must know that password. Files with only editing restrictions are usually handled; if one cannot be changed safely, you are told to unlock it.
