Turn a WEBP picture into a PNG
Drop the WebP pictures here, one or a stack of them; extras can be added or taken out later.
Drag the slider across the preview, choose between an exact copy and a lighter file, and set a size or fill colour if needed.
Save the PNGs one by one or grab a single archive. The pictures are processed on your own device.
Built for the moment a WebP will not open
Cut-outs stay cut out
Product shots, stickers and logos keep their see-through background and soft edges. Prefer a plain backdrop for a document? Fill the empty area with white, black or a colour you pick.
Two file types, real numbers
An exact pixel-for-pixel copy or a lighter version with fewer colours (256 down to 16). Both are produced from your actual picture, so the size printed under each choice is measured, not guessed.
Right size for the destination
Shrink pictures to fit a slide, a listing or an icon slot: longest side from 3840 px down to 512 px, 75, 50 or 25 percent, or your own maximum width and height. Small images are never blown up.
Animations handled honestly
A moving WebP cannot become a moving PNG. You get the opening frame as a still, or, in browsers that can decode each frame, every frame as a numbered picture packed into one ZIP.
Save WebP as PNG for apps that still expect it
Right-click a picture on many websites and you end up with a .webp file. That is fine for browsing, but the moment you try to drop it into a slide deck, an older photo editor, a print shop portal or a job application form, it may be rejected. A PNG copy solves that, and because PNG stores every pixel without loss, text and sharp edges come through clean.
Typical jobs
- Students pasting a diagram from an online article into a report or presentation.
- Office teams turning a partner logo with a clear background into a file the letterhead template accepts.
- Freelancers and online sellers preparing product cut-outs for a marketplace that only takes PNG or JPG.
- Real estate agents reusing listing graphics in a brochure layout.
- Teachers adding web images to worksheets in an older word processor.
Getting a good result
Leave the exact mode on for logos, icons and screenshots: when a picture has no more than 256 colours it is written as a compact palette file with nothing changed. Photos are a different story, because WebP squeezes them far harder than any lossless format can, so the PNG may be several times larger. If that matters, try the lighter mode with dithering switched on, or reduce the dimensions first.
Working through a folder of downloads? Add them all at once, click a thumbnail to preview any single picture (the 100% button shows fine detail), and look at the rough total shown for the whole set before you start. Files that cannot be read are skipped and listed at the end, so one broken download does not stop the rest. Nothing is sent to a server at any point.

Questions people ask about this task
How do I save a WebP image as PNG instead?
Download the WebP from the website as usual, then drop it on this page and press Convert. The PNG keeps the original file name, just with a .png ending.
Why will my editor or upload form not accept WebP?
Some older programs, office suites and web forms were built before WebP was common and only read formats such as PNG and JPG. Saving the picture as PNG gets around that without changing how it looks.
Can I make the transparent part white?
Yes. Under Background, tap White, Black or Custom and pick any colour. The empty area is filled before the PNG is written, which helps when a document or app shows the see-through area in an unwanted colour.
Is there a way to keep the PNG small?
Choose the Smaller PNG card and lower the maximum colours, or pick a Resize option. Flat graphics often drop a lot; photos stay heavier because standard PNG compression is lossless.
Does this work on a phone?
Yes, in any modern mobile browser. Huge pictures can run out of memory on phones, so pick a Resize option such as 1920 px if a file fails.
What if a file says .webp but is really something else?
Each file is checked by its content, not its name. A PNG that only carries a .webp ending is flagged and, in exact mode with no resize or background, saved untouched; other formats are still opened if the browser can read them.
